Where Is Calcium Found?

Calcium (symbol Ca) is a chemical element that belongs to a group of alkaline earth metals. It doesn’t exist in a free state in nature so it must be obtained through certain chemical processes.

In nature it can be found in rocks, chalk, limestone, dolomite, calcite, gypsum, seashells…

Its importance for living beings is huge. Interesting is that average human body consists of about 1-1,5 kg (female-male) of calcium. Most of it is in the bones and teeth.

As for nutrition, it can be found in milk and all its products, seeds and nuts, spinach, Chinese cabbage, kale, broccoli, tofu, orange juice…
