Which river flows through the city of Cairo, Egypt?

The river Nile flows through the city of Cairo, Egypt. It is considered to be the river that runs the longest in the entire world. The recorded distance is more than 4100 miles. It has two major tributaries; the Blue Nile and the White Nile. The Blue Nile contributes to the fertility of the Nile and the White Nile runs longer than the former. The river flows through 4 important cities in 10 different countries making it a very important water body for Africa. Many civilizations has flourished because of the fertility of the river.  Source of the White Nile is Lake Victoria, while Blue Nile has it source in Lake Tana in the Ethiopian Highlands.

The river has been widely used for transportation of goods, hence it served for the shine ofcommercial activities and especially Egyptian civilization. It benefited the animals, the crops and the people.
