What will computers be able to do in the future?

The computer in today’s world already occupies an important place in our lives and its importance will only increase in the future. The computer of tomorrow will make a bigger couch potato of us. With social networking expanding to meeting neighbors in a chat room, learning extending to encyclopedias on the internet, friendships built upon in forums, our real selves revealed in blogs and falling in love at first sight on websites, the computer of tomorrow will make our furniture reduced to a chair and a computer table or even less. There might be a day when we will refuse to step outside and the only true and lasting relationship we know of is with the computer.

The computer in the future will make it unnecessary to think as all of the mental processes will be done by it. Making calculations, building projects, setting up your home, creating a movie experience with brilliant lifelike visuals and sounds, even story-writing and producing the music for the movie will be the computer’s job. In a situation like this, it will be easy to believe that we have created something that works at the touch of a button or even at our voice commands, but in reality, we will become slaves to a master that has taken over everything real about our world.
