Very Brief History Of The Internet

The Internet is one of the most significant ways of communication today. There are numerous of benefits if you use it for good purposes.
The story started in the early 1960s with US military wanting to create computer network in order to share information between computers.
1969 the first computer network known as ARPAnet is created. After a while it became clear that there were great advantages of computers networking.
1980s connected computers were required to use Transmission Control Protocol over Internet Protocol (TCP/IP). The National Science Foundation set up a computer network called as the NSFnet which later took over ARPAnet.
1989-1990 Tim Berners-Lee came up with idea of using computer networks for sharing hypertext documents between people on different locations. Idea was called World Wide Web.
Today Internet is more than World Wide Web. It also includes, e-mail, online audio and video, FTP, WAIS, JAVA programs, chat etc.
