Match Your Zodiac Sign and Your Birthstone

Most of us are extremely curious about the gemstone associated with our Zodiac signs.  Well, this article should satisfy that curiosity!

Man has been interested in the “stars” and their effect on his life since ancient times; and the interest has waned not a little bit even in this modern era!  Whatever your gender might be, you are as curious about your favorable birthstone as the next person!  So, here is some information concerning the twelve Zodiac signs and their related gemstones/birthstones–

1) The month of January and Capricorn go together.  The colorful Garnet is your birthstone.  And do you know something?  Your stone can be obtained in all colors, except for blue!

2) February follows after January, and so does Aquarius.  The ancient Greeks decided that your stone must be the Amethyst!  According to them, it is compatible with this “month of love”!  Quartz in nature, this stone is purple in color.  Those stones that exhibit shades of lavender or a smoky light color are lower in price; the costlier ones are dark-colored.

3) March is meant for Pisceans.  Now, you have a wonderful gemstone awaiting you—the Aquamarine!  Not only do you, the wearer, present a more youthful experience, but you also get blessed with qualities like foresight, joy, bravery, and cleverness!  At least, that is what people of our times say!  The ancients believed that this stone could dissolve phobias and fears, as well as the negative effects of poison.

4) The most precious stone of all—the Diamond—belongs to the April-born!  It was as late as 500 BC that the Diamond (named after a Greek word, Adamas, meaning “unconquerable”) came to the notice of mankind.  Not only is this gemstone the hardest substance on earth, but it reflects light (hence the sparkle).  You are lucky because you are getting a birthstone that consists of only one element in its composition, and is absolutely pure!

5) If you are a Gemini born in May, it is the splendid Emerald for you!  This is a talismanic stone that has been mentioned even in the ancient tables.  For a Taurean, it would be a planetary stone.

6) June-born people need to wear the splendid Pearl.  Pearls have always found favor as gifts with loved ones (ask the ancient Knights!) and brides.  A bride whose neck is adorned with a Pearl necklace looks enchanting; she is not very tearful at leaving her parental home and looks forward to a happily married life!

7) The following month is July—the month of the red Ruby!  This birthstone is supposed to bring you wonderful health and joy!  Additionally, you get blessed with great luck and wisdom.

8) Maybe, you are volcanic in nature and born in the month of August!  So, the yellow-green Peridot would be the most suitable birthstone for you!

9) Come September, it is the time for Blue Sapphire!  It has additional significance in that it stands for a “65th wedding anniversary”!

10) Are you October-born?  Go for the Opal.  Opal stones are of two kinds—the common stone and the precious one.

11) November is meant for citrine and topaz.  You are lucky if this is your month, for the topaz is available in a variety of colors—orange, sherry, brown, yellow, red, and pink.  Some stones even tend to be colorless.

12) The American Gem Trade Association has given an official status to tanzanite for the month of December.  Some people argue that it should be turquoise.  But you can stick with tanzanite!

Now that you have finally figured out your birthstone, the next step is to choose your jewelry.  Your semi-precious or precious stone can be set against a metallic background.  Do be careful that you are not duped with cheap imitations of your gemstone.  The real and pure ones are actually quite rare, though attractive.  But a genuine jeweler will make sure that you get what you want.
