A graduation in pharmacy is mandatory to be a pharmacist. A bachelor degree in Pharmacy takes 6 years. This is taken after completing 12 years of schooling. Hence a total of 18 years is absolutely required to becoming a pharmacist. While at school, the necessary tests can be taken to be able to get accepted into the pharmacy school of choice. Along with the tests, some pharmacy schools could also engage in an interview with the candidate to ascertain if he/she fits in the school. Once enrolled, there are 2 years of necessary courses that have to be taken. After this, the courses for pharmacy can be taken up. On completion of the 6 years, the student has the option of either beginning to practice or complete a one year internship.
