What Islands Make Up The Aleutian Islands?

The Aleutian Islands are located in the Northern Pacific Ocean. Interesting about their location (coordinates: 54° 49? 0? N, 164° 2? 0? W, crossing 180^o longitude) is that they’re technically the westernmost and the easternmost part of the US. The Islands belonged to Russia until 1867 when Alaska was purchased by US.

There are over 300 small, mostly volcanic islands forming the Aleutian Islands. Islands are grouped in five islands groups: the Fox (including Unimak and Unalaska), Islands of Four Mountains, Andreanof (including Adak), Rat and Near (including Attu).
